Abstract

Abstract In this paper, a variable configuration amphibious robot is designed and analyzed, which can move freely on both land and water. The amphibious robot’s water-land switching mechanism is studied and the folding mechanism of the front and rear hydrofoil is designed. The NACA0012 aerofoil with a high lift-to-drag ratio is selected. The installation position and angle of the front and rear hydrofoils are studied based on the RANS method. A numerical parameter model of the amphibious robot is established using the Kriging model. The NSGA-II Genetic algorithm is adopted to optimize the robot’s hydrodynamic characteristics.
