Revolutionizing Healthcare with IoMT and WBAN: A Comprehensive Analysis

Abstract
With the advancement in the Internet of Things, various domains are enjoying the numerous research opportunities IoT has to offer. It has opened numerous research panoramas, be it multimedia, robotics, home automation, agriculture, environmental monitoring, energy optimization, or healthcare; IoT is a great step. However, in healthcare, privacy concerns are significant. With the advent of Wearable Body Area Networks, this issue is resolved to some extent. WBAN offers various opportunities based on specified requirements, such as building safety applications, individual care or appointment management, intelligent computing, chronic disease monitoring, physical fitness, maternity care, elderly healthcare, and many others. We analyze different healthcare applications and realize them using the proposed architecture. Moreover, we conduct a comprehensive review of the most popular WBAN and analyze their healthcare sensing applications. Our analysis presents that with the advent of WBAN, the healthcare field is promisingly evolving. With the advent of specific WBAN, it is possible to develop sustainable medical and consequence analysis. Hence, the actual benefits of WBAN can be enhanced in almost all healthcare applications while maintaining some common objectives, such as reliability, further efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and scalability.
