Abstract

These days, robots have been involved in almost every industrial activity. They have been proven to conveniently improve the efficiency, productivity and reliability of a system for an autonomous robot, its control system involves several functions such as perception, machine learning, expert system and path tracking, that are strongly interconnected. In industries, a robot in the form of mobile robots are utilized to carry goods where the robot will be able to assist in handling the problem of distributing components and spare parts to the production line. Automated guided vehicle or AGV is an electrically powered robot without a driver, and is computerized. In this study, a path tracking robot system will be utilized where the robot will track a given path placed on the floor of a production line. The expert system algorithm used is forward chaining, where the system relies on a person’s expertise on a robot’s working environment. It is then transferred into the robot so that the robot will quickly understand the path. It is expected that the resulting algorithms to be very effective and efficient in the robot path tracking.
