Abstract
The design and fabrication of compliant structures using soft materials are growing in importance due to their unique benefits in various kinds of robotics and sensor applications. In this study, close-proximity distance perception performance of low-cost soft robotic sensors fabricated in the laboratory and intended for use in insect-like robots, are investigated. These sensors, produced using silicone rubber and conductive carbon grease, are subjected to a series of tests to determine their time and frequency domain characteristics, and the results are shared.
