Abstract

Permanent magnet motor for robot joints has 3 major noise sources. The first is a rotor"s unbalanced force. The second is rotator noise due to turbulence. The third is the electro magnetic force. Three noise sources were analysed by computer simulation. The first source was analysed by rigid dynamics, The second source by CFD, The third by electromagnetic simulation. LES(large eddy simulation) was used for CFD, Real current wave was used for electromagnetic simulation. Air bone noise dur to turbulence is the main noise source below 500 Hz. Electro magnetic noise is the main noise source above 1500 Hz. The unbalanced forces’ noise of the rotor occupies less than 10 % over the entire frequency range.
