Abstract
Researches on tracking visually moving target have already become the focus in the field of robotics and computer vision. Firstly, this paper reviewed and analysed the state of the art about visual tracking technology. And according to differences in tracking strategy, classified into four types,i. e. region-based tracking,features-based tracking,template-based tracking, and model-based tracking. Then, discussed difficulties may be encountered by researchers in dealing with tracking strategies. At last, shortly addressed some future directions of tracking technology and stated the roles that fractal theory and biological vision might act as in future visual tracking systems.
