Advances in application of of Da Vinci Surgical System

Abstract

Since 1980s,the techniques of minimally invasive surgery have been improved rapidly with the application of laparoscope.From 2000,a new epoch of modern surgery has come with the development of robotic surgical system.This paper introduced the compositions and function of Da vinci surgical system,reviewed the applications of Da vinci surgical system in surgical operation,and analyzed the technical advantages and the short comings of this system by comparing with conventional laparoscopic surgery.Some considerations of the development of minimally invasive robot were also proposed.
