Abstract
The Canadian Space Agency (CSA)'s Automation and Robotics Testbed (CART) was developed under CSA's Strategic Technologies in Automation and Robotic (STEAR) Program to assist with the development, demonstration and validation of strategic technologies, as well as for training purposes. The CART includes two robotic manipulators, which emulate the Special Purpose Dextrous Manipulator (SPDM). Contributions from several Canadian companies comprise this advanced dualarm manipulator system. This paper provides an overall description of the CART as well as a selected set of strawman tasks to demonstrate CART’s capabilities.
