Abstract
ABSTRACT: Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing healthcare by automating tasks requiring human intelligence, such as clinical decision-making, predictive analysis, and patient interaction. Ayurveda, deeply rooted in traditional knowledge, can benefit from the incorporation of AI to enhance healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes. This paper highlights the integration of AI technologies with Ayurveda and explores its potential to transform the healthcare system. AI in Ayurveda, supported by initiatives like the “AI for Health (AI 4 Health),” aligns with global efforts to incorporate Traditional Medicine (TM) into modern health care. Applications range from diagnosing complex Ayurvedic parameters such as Prakriti and Sarata to enabling clinical decision support systems for evidence-based practice. AI can accelerate herbal drug discovery, predict bioactive compound interactions, and optimize traditional purification procedures such as Vamana and Virechana . AI trends such as personalized medicine, robotic surgeries, and generative AI have set benchmarks in modern health care. These tools have great potential for Ayurveda, aiding in real-time monitoring, predictive analysis of Dosha imbalances, and facilitating patient education through chatbots and wearables. Despite these advancements, challenges such as data accuracy, algorithmic bias, ethical concerns, and societal acceptance persist. Addressing these requires robust governance, transparent data management, and user-friendly AI designs. This integration presents challenges, including overreliance on AI tools and the risk of losing critical diagnostic skills intrinsic to Ayurveda. Solutions must emphasize preserving Ayurveda’s holistic approach while leveraging AI’s computational power to enhance diagnostics, treatment precision, and accessibility. In conclusion, blending AI innovations with Ayurvedic principles can redefine healthcare by providing high-quality, personalized treatments. However, authentic data, ethical frameworks, and societal awareness are critical for overcoming barriers and realizing the full potential of this synergy.
