The Application of Artificial Intelligence in the Recognition, Diagnosis, and Treatment of Autism

Abstract

Purpose of the review: Traditional autism screening and diagnosis has some limitations, they cannot meet the needs of large-scale screening and diagnosis. The application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to clinical medicine is a hot research topic recently, especially in mental health. China and international explorations of autism intelligent recognition technology have accumulated rich results in the fields of brain imaging, expression, eye movement and action, multimode, and classical task behaviour. Meanwhile, a variety of intelligent therapeutic robots based on modal interaction are also developed. This paper reviews the shortcomings of the traditional diagnostic techniques for autism and the current research status of AI in the diagnosis and treatment, hope to provide a reference for relevant research on Autism applications based on AI.
