Abstract
The functionalities required to endow a rover with the capacity to autonomouslygenerate and execute motions are now well understood in the robotic community. But the ability to achieve long range missions, in both space and time, can not be reduced to a simple sequence of small motions. Besides the integration of high level planning, scheduling and mission execution monitoring processes, this ability calls for the development of new functionalities. This paper present our progresses on the development of such functionalities, namely long range localization and navigation strategies.
