Abstract
This paper presents an augmented reality system which facilitates user interactive simulation of teleoperation of robotic systems. Leveraging the recent advances in augmented reality and 3D sensing and modeling technologies, the system facilitates various concepts of enhanced teleoperation, including virtual fixture, teleautonomy, and augmented teleoperation. A series of test operations was made using the virtual simulator, which demonstrated the potential benefits of the use of augmented reality technique for enhancement of teleoperation performance.
