Abstract
The configuration of the communication between entities of an automated production system could be derived from the design of its information system. Thus, our objective is the design and integration of the industrial communications of distributed automated systems. Based on the information system study, without having recourse to new modelling tools, we want to generate the configuration of the communication system while guaranteeing consistency between these two systems. Hence we offer to the designer of the production system the means that are necessary for the realization of his or her system. In order to reach our objective we are using objectoriented design methods (i.e. OMT: Object Modelling Technique) for the information system study and the industrial protocol MMS (Manufacturing Message Specification) for the communication system. In order to allow the transition step from conceptual stage of the information system to the MMS environment, we have defined some translation rules. These rules are studied from the point of view of the implementation constraints. In order to validate our approach and its feasibility we have presented a remotecontrol application of an industrial robot with feedback video for which the MMS objects and services are generated.
