Abstract

Service robots are used in a vast range of service applications. Domestic service robots have the requirement of a human-like appearance and inevitably a human-like interactive behaviors. In this paper, a human-like robot head mechanism is proposed while including the features of eye mechanism, neck mechanism in addition to its human-like appearance. This design is done identifying the average human eye and neck in each movement for more human-like interaction. In addition, the implementation of human emotions using a combination of eye and neck movements is also discussed in this paper. Basic human emotions as a response to an input given to the robot head are also analyzed.
