Design and Implementation of a Mobile Platform for Education and Research

Abstract

In this paper we present the systematic approach to conception and realization of a mobile robot platform tailored for student education as well as research and development. The whole system was envisioned as a platform that can be used for addressing an array of challenges inherent to mobile robotics and control systems. The aim of the project is to explore different engineering topics using a versatile, cost-effective, and user-friendly platform that can be easily multiplicated if needed. Furthermore, the implementation of the project is presented with the resultant metrics pertaining to precision and repeatability.
