Abstract

Cell Robots for Tumor Therapy In article number 2103986, Huawei Chen, Lin Feng, and co-workers develop a cell robot system for targeted tumor therapy by converting biological cells through endocytosis of functionalized iron nanoparticles. The robot uses a combination of the macrophage's tumor-tropism and external magnetic control for navigation to tumors through the blood vessels. With the cascaded drug release, targeted killing of tumors in mice is demonstrated, with minimal effects on the normal surrounding tissues.
