Abstract
One of the important tasks that have to be solved for robot navigation is object detection and collision avoidance. The most common aproach applied is the usage of a vision sensor. That in turn creates antother problem to solve. Image sensors generate high volume of data about obstacles, so the mobile robot needs to be equipped with the fast algorithms for extracting only the most important details. This paper presents the image segmentation method for obstacle detection in the mobile robot environment.
