Abstract

With the popularity of Wi-Fi network, network-based tele-operated mobile robots has become a research hot spot. In order to overcome the shortcomings of high cost, high power consumption, lack of portability and difficulty in outdoor power supply, a mobile teleoperation mobile robot based on Wi-Fi network is designed in this paper. The control system is divided into two parts: the handheld remote control terminal based on Android smartphone and the on-board controller based on a micro-controller, which communicate with each other through the wireless router. The prototype robot was manufactured and tested. Experiments show that the video delay is less than 0.4 seconds and the remote control distance is about 80 meters.
