Abstract
This chapter explores the impact of construction robotics has on transforming the industry in terms of efficiency, risk reduction and productivity enhancements. It examines the various advantages of autonomous systems that not only increase operability efficiency but also eliminate risky jobs thus leading to significant reductions in insurance premiums. Robotic technologies are included and demonstrated to track biometrics, avoiding injuries and relieving physical strain, causing a substantial decline in absence. The chapter highlights how construction robotics minimizes manual labor with massive competitive advantages in rates, safety concerns and long-tail liabilities. Apart from theoretical conversations, the chapter outlines practical instances of how innovative robotics has been successful in different construction initiatives. Notable case studies feature companies like Hadrian Technologies, Brokk, Fast Bridge, and Komatsu, which have pioneered groundbreaking innovations in autonomous brick installation. These advancements are transforming the construction of reinforced concrete infrastructures and the renovation of tunnel systems. The track record of these projects provides strong evidence that construction robotics has the potential to unleash unprecedented economic impacts through increased performance, better resource efficiency optimization, risk mitigation and reliability enhancements.
