Abstract
Boundary conditions in production demand an increasing product and capacitiy flexibility of production systems. This required flexibility is partly disabeled by the existing strict separation of man and robot workstations. The Fraunhofer Institut manufacturing Engineering and Automation in Stuttgart tries to find solutions by innovative approaches in assembly techniques. One approach is a common work station for man and robot, in which they directly work together on one object and can optimally combine their specific skills.
