Abstract

The study of deformations and topography of both living bodies and inert objects as well as the possibility of repositioning them are operations of great interest in automatic processing, quality control, medical applications, and robotics. We present a simple fringe projection method that performs these operations even on large objects with sensitivity in the millimetric and submillimetric ranges. The interpretation of the results is straightforward and the results are given both in modulus and sign.
