Abstract

The RAiLE© - an autonomous “Robotics/AI Legal Entity” - human, machine or something else under international law? Through our ongoing research we, the authors, have seen a growing need to look at the legal aspects of the interaction between two often separate areas of our human lives affected by the technological developments. These are the workplace and the family unit. The importance of this is accentuated by the growing diversification in the interaction between Robotics/AI entities and humans in daily life, where the new technological solutions are capable of multiple different roles in our society's daily life. While our ongoing research into the legal aspects of this subject matter cannot provide all the answers, it is intended to look at the creation of a legal framework of definitions for future legislation to avoid or mitigate future potential legal disruption - i.e. when laws relating to technology usage is outpaced by the actual use of it.
