Research on camera calibration method

Abstract

The camera calibration has become one of the most attractive research topics in the domain of computer vision at present.Its purpose is to confirm the camera parameter model and to obtain the camera parameters through the single or multiple images which photographed by the camera.It has the widespread application prospect in the domain of the robot navigation,three-dimensional reconstruction,bio-medical,virtual reality,visual surveillance as well as the visual servo,ets.This paper summarizes the research status of the traditional calibration,the self-calibration and the active vision calibration method,analazes theirs advantages and disadvantages and the future development trend.
