Abstract

The Liverpool Telescope is a 2.0 metre fully robotic telescope sited in La Palma. It may have up to five instruments permanently mounted and can switch between them in under one minute. The first instruments to be commissioned are the RATCamoptical CCD Camera and a prototype low dispersion integral field spectrograph. Future instrumentation will include a near infrared imaging camera (SupIrCam) and the FRODOspec dual beam, medium resolution, integral field spectrograph. On sky testing of the telescope has been carried out at the assembly factory, with first light at the facility obtained on 1st May 2001.
