Abstract
This work describes the result of international subjective evaluation of seal robot in terms of human-robot interaction. The seal robot named Paro was displayed at the exhibition held at the Exhibition Center in Brunei from February 28th to March 3/sup rd/, 2004. 98 visitors evaluated the robot by answering questionnaires. The result showed that the robot was highly evaluated, and were very similar in those of Japan that were obtained in previous study. In addition, important factors such as "impression like real animals", "favorable impression by contacting" and "favorable impression by appearance" that become key points in robot evaluation were extracted from the results of the principal component analysis.
