Abstract
Indoor wheel mobile robot navigation system is still an open problem due to the presence of obstacles and the complexity of the environment. The path planning and localization play vital roles in obstacle avoidance and complete navigation of wheel mobile robot. In this paper, the most important methods are reviewed, by considering their advantages and limitations, especially for indoor mobile robots. Different low-cost navigation techniques for an indoor autonomous mobile robot are reviewed. This paper contributes to a comparison of approaches for collision-free and self-localizing indoor autonomous mobile robots, and recommendations towards low-cost but reliable solutions.
