Overview
The Zumwalt-Class (DDG-1000) is a next-generation multi-mission destroyer designed to strengthen naval power from the sea. Three ships in this class are 610 feet long and 80 feet wide, providing space for surface, undersea, and aviation missions. Ingalls Shipbuilding has contracts for combat systems availability on DDG 1002 and modernization of DDG 1000 and DDG 1001 with conventional prompt strike (CPS) capabilities, including removal of two 155 mm Advanced Gun System mounts.
