Compliance Devices
Overview
Compliance Devices are automatic compensators designed to correct part positioning errors, fixture misalignments, and tolerance variances. ATI offers three types: LCC (lateral), UCC (universal with pressure-tunable stiffness), and RCC (remote center). Used in automated assembly, bin picking, and robotic finishing.
Key features
- ▸Three unique compliance compensator types: LCC, UCC, and RCC
- ▸LCC offers X-Y lateral compliance for misaligned workpieces
- ▸UCC combines X-Y lateral, X-Y-Z rotation, and Z compression compliance
- ▸UCC returns to center repeatability via pressurized internal reset piston
- ▸Tunable compliance stiffness by varying supply pressure
- ▸RCC uses 3-12 elastomer shear pads for peg-in-hole assembly
- ▸Automatic compensation for part positioning errors and fixture misalignments
- ▸Applications: automated assembly, bin picking, loading/unloading, robotic finishing
