摘要

CORDIC (Coordinate Rotation Digital Computer) algorithm was introduced by Volder in 1959 and generalized by Walther in 1971. In the past decades, there have been many CORDIC-related papers. But it is still a hot research topic for many researchers due to its powerful functions and the simple hardware structure. The CORDIC algorithm is capable of evaluating many elementary arithmetic functions and has been applied in various areas such as arithmetic function units, computer graphics, robot control, and many digital signal processing applications. The CORDIC algorithm can be applied in two modes (e.g., rotation and vectoring) and three types (e.g., linear, circular and hyperbolic mode). In this paper we will propose a new fast and low power CORDIC processor design for vector rotation.
