A Review on Plant Growth Monitoring using Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things

摘要

Monitoring plant growth efficiently is crucial for ensuring there’s enough food for our growing global population, especially with limited agricultural resources. This paper looks at how different weather conditions, like humidity, nutrients, light, air, and temperature, can affect plant growth. Since these factors are all connected, it’s important to control and optimize them for healthy plants. To tackle these challenges, smart agriculture systems have become essential. They use Internet of Things (IoT) devices and Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques to monitor plant growth effectively. IoT technologies, such as sensors, cameras, drones, and GPS, help collect real-time data. AI techniques, like Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL), analyze this data, helping us make informed decisions. Looking ahead, there are exciting developments that can improve plant growth monitoring even more. This includes better sensor technologies, using edge computing, integrating robots, bringing in blockchain technology, and encouraging collaboration between researchers, farmers, and tech providers. As a practical example, the paper suggests exploring a tomato plant growth monitoring system to demonstrate how these technologies can work together effectively.
