About

Dr. Yi‐Jen Chen is a pioneering robotic gynecologic surgeon whose work has transformed minimally invasive approaches to complex pelvic conditions. Her research focuses on three key areas: advanced robotic myomectomy, ureteral reconstruction for endometriosis, and pelvic organ prolapse repair. In her landmark 2015 study on robotic-assisted laparoscopic complex myomectomy (21 citations), Dr. Chen demonstrated how the robotic system’s flexible EndoWrist technology overcomes the rigid limitations of conventional laparoscopy, enabling delicate suturing and tissue manipulation. She further advanced the field with her 2020 case series on robot-assisted ureteral reconstruction for ureter endometriosis (12 citations), establishing a reproducible surgical protocol for this challenging condition. Most recently, her 2023 comparative study of robot-assisted sacrohysteropexy versus sacrocolpopexy for advanced apical prolapse (7 citations) provided critical evidence favoring uterine-preserving techniques. Throughout her career, Dr. Chen has consistently shown that robotic assistance improves surgical precision and patient outcomes in gynecology. Her work at a single medical center has become a reference point for surgeons worldwide, with her cumulative citations reflecting her growing influence in robotic gynecologic surgery.
