Que Lan is a leading researcher in vector biology and insect biochemistry, whose work has significantly advanced the understanding of cholesterol transport in disease-carrying mosquitoes. Her key research areas include the molecular mechanisms of sterol trafficking in insects and the development of novel vector control agents. Lan’s most notable contribution is the identification and characterization of mosquito sterol carrier protein-2 (AeSCP-2), a protein essential for cholesterol uptake in mosquito cells.
