Naghmeh Dehkhoda is an atmospheric scientist whose research focuses on the optical properties and climatic impacts of black carbon aerosols. Her primary contributions lie in developing and refining retrieval methodologies to isolate black carbon’s contribution to light absorption from ground-based remote sensing data. Using AERONET (Aerosol Robotic Network) observations, she has pioneered techniques that leverage depolarization ratio and single scattering albedo to quantify black carbon absorption aerosol optical depth (AAODBC).
