About

Minshu Zhang is a rising leader in optoelectronics, whose research focuses on the design and development of high-performance, self-powered photodetectors and novel heterojunction devices. Zhang’s most significant contribution lies in pioneering the integration of perovskite single crystals with germanium to create self-powered photodetectors, as demonstrated in their highly cited 2024 work, “Self-Powered Photodetector Based on Perovskite/Ge Heterojunction with High Responsivity.” This breakthrough, which has already garnered 10 citations, addresses a critical challenge in the field: achieving high sensitivity without an external power source. By leveraging the unique properties of FAPbBr₃ perovskite and a Ge substrate, Zhang’s device achieves exceptional responsivity, paving the way for next-generation applications in image sensing, biological detection, and robotics. This work not only showcases Zhang’s innovative approach to materials engineering but also establishes a new paradigm for energy-efficient photodetection. With a growing citation impact and a clear trajectory toward practical, low-power devices, Minshu Zhang is a researcher to watch in the evolving landscape of sustainable optoelectronics.
