Jietai Mao is a leading figure in atmospheric aerosol research, with a career dedicated to understanding how airborne particles influence climate, air quality, and radiative transfer. His foundational work on the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) has been instrumental in transforming satellite remote sensing of aerosols.
