D. A. H. Buckley is a leading astrophysicist specializing in time-domain astronomy, multi-messenger astrophysics, and the optical follow-up of transient phenomena. As a key figure in the MASTER Global Robotic Net, he has made groundbreaking contributions to the real-time optical detection of gravitational-wave sources, most notably co-authoring the first optical identification of the neutron star merger GW170817—a paper with 227 citations that marked a watershed moment in multi-messenger astronomy.
