About
Baofu Ding is a pioneering materials scientist whose research lies at the intersection of two-dimensional materials, soft matter optics, and bioinspired photonics. His most celebrated contribution is the development of a 2D material–based transparent hydrogel with engineerable interference colours, published in 2022 and already garnering 97 citations. This work addresses a fundamental challenge in soft materials: endowing transparent hydrogels with large, tunable optical anisotropy.
