About
Dr. Kaushal Singh Rathore is a pioneering hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgeon whose work is redefining the frontiers of minimally invasive surgery. His research centers on the application of robotic technology to the most complex abdominal procedures, particularly in oncology and biliary reconstruction. Dr. Rathore’s most impactful contribution is a landmark propensity-matched analysis comparing robotic versus open pancreatoduodenectomy for periampullary neoplasms. This study, which has garnered 5 citations since its 2024 publication, provides crucial evidence that robotic surgery can achieve comparable peri-operative and oncologic outcomes to the traditional open approach, a major step toward safer, less invasive cancer care. Further demonstrating his technical virtuosity, Dr. Rathore reported the first total robotic Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy for a post-cholecystectomy Bismuth type 2 biliary stricture, a notoriously difficult reconstruction.
