Abstract
This research presents the development of a mobile robot designed to clean up and improve energy efficiency at solar photovoltaic (PV) installations in Peru. PV energy has seen significant growth as a sustainable and renewable energy source, but its efficiency is often hampered by the accumulation of dirt and debris on the surfaces of solar modules. The proposed robot addresses this challenge by integrating autonomous navigation, advanced cleaning mechanisms, and data-driven optimization using sensors and machine learning techniques. The system is equipped with mechanical and electronic components to ensure robustness, as well as reliable operation in different environmental conditions and module configurations. In addition, the robot incorporates a cloud-based data management system to monitor and analyze performance metrics, enabling continuous improvement of operational efficiency. By automating the maintenance of PV modules, the system not only improves energy production and reduces operating costs but also extends the lifetime of PV modules, offering a cost-effective and environmentally friendly solution for residential and industrial applications. It also contributes to the preservation of renewable energy technologies.
