Abstract
In this paper we review different applications involving the use of image sensors output for aerial navigation and guidance. Sensors under consideration include visible camera, IR line scanner, and forward looking IR camera. The interaction between classical (image free) navigation and image processing is emphasized. Examples and issues in image-based guidance are illustrated in areas such as aerial guidance and also space robotics.
