Abstract

The paper outlines DLR's (Germany) devel opments towards intuitive 6 dof controllers for robotics and 3D graphics over the past 20 years. In the last years these developments have led to a low-cost 6dof input device SPACE MOUSE (called MAGELLAN by the license company LOGITECH) which is widely used in 3D CAD and virtual reality, and which finds more and more application in industrial robot control panels.
