Abstract

A differential kinetic potentiometric method with the Kalman filter for the simultaneous determination of multicomponents is described. The complexing reaction of iron(III) or zirconium(IV) with fluoride ion has a differential rate at certain reaction conditions. So iron and zirconium can be simultaneously determined by measuring the potential change of the fluoride ion-selective electrode (ISE), and a microcomputer-based ion analyzer is used for the determinations. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
