Abstract
This paper deals with robots employed for inspection and maintenance work in plants, which has been conventionally performed by human operators. The work is usually dangerous and hazardous, since it must be carried out in a hostile environment. Modern robotic technology can replace the work of humans with robots in chemical plants, nuclear power plants, and other plants. This robotic technology is described in this paper using several application examples.
