Abstract

A magnetic gear using a permanent magnet was created for practical use. The magnetic gear has many advantageous performance characteristics, such as absorption of vibration, noiselessness, and oilless operation. The angle between the driving shaft and driven shaft (the so-called intersecting spindle angle θi) of the magnetic bevel gear can be changed. The gear reverses at θi if the main contacting zone is removed. It can be used in robot arms and other industrial applications. As a result, the driven gear is rotated normally at 0°≤θi≤10°, stopped at 10°<θi<15°, and reversed at θi≥15°. The transmitted torque TG is reached the maximum value, TG = 6.6 Nm at θi = 35°. The efficiency of power-transmitting ηG is 80% for the pinion speed NP= 1500 rpm at θi = 0°, TG = 5 Nm.
