Industrial applications of stepper control systems

Abstract

The main elements of a stepper motor control system are presented and a comparison of open loop and closed loop control is briefly discussed. Applications of stepper controls used in a labelling machine, an automatic testing machine using a pick and place robot and an indexing table for an automatic assembly system are described, illustrating some common approaches.
