Music Melody Extraction Algorithm for Flute Robot

Abstract
In the previous work, the flute robot could only play music that was programmed beforehand. Therefore, in this paper, firstly an algorithm based on fast Fourier transform for extracting rhythm and fundamental frequency of noiseless music was proposed. What's more, the music recording usually contains negative segment at the beginning and there is always low frequency noise existing in the recording, which will disturb the analysis of rhythm and fundamental frequency. Hence, an algorithm for eliminating the negative segment and filtering noise was given. The results show that the algorithm can extract the rhythm and fundamental frequency precisely and eliminate the negative segment and filtering noise efficiently.
