Abstract
Abstract Objectives Using bi-planar fluoroscopic positioning orthopaedic robot to perform core decompression surgery for osteonecrosis of the femoral head and evaluate its accuracy. Methods Six patients with osteonecrosis of the femoral head were selected to perform robot-assisted core decompression. The operation time, needle insert time, intraoperative blood loss, intraoperative fluoroscopy times, anteroposterior needle shaft, lateral needle shaft angle, postoperative Harris score and VAS score were recorded. Results The robot operation time was 43.50 ± 4.45 min. The operation time for intraoperative insertion of the guide needle was 4.11 ± 1.41 min. The intra-operative blood loss was 23.95 ± 2.37 ml, and the intra-operative fluoroscopy times were 12.83 ± 1.03 times. The anter-oposterior needle shaft angle was 1.18 ± 0.41°, and the lateral needle shaft angle was 1.26 ± 0.25°. Preoperative HHS and VAS scores were 67.13 ± 4.45 and 4.23 ± 1.05, and at the six-month follow-up, HHS and VAS scores were 86.53 ± 3.87 and 1.89 ± 0.749. Conclusion The bi-planar fluoroscopic positioning robot is an ideal method for the treatment of osteonecrosis of the femoral head with the advantages of accurate drilling, a short operation time, less surgical trauma and higher security.
