Abstract

This paper addresses some serious issues about personnel morale, fears and hopes associated with and attributed to the laboratory robot. The introduction of the laboratory robot into the laboratory is examined from a managerial perspective. Human-rights and robot-rights issues are identified and addressed. Real world examples of how the integration of two high through-put robots affected the routine of a major industrial food laboratory are discussed.
