Abstract
Changes in national and international competition, coupled with the mass application of new technologies, are revolutionizing production. Consumers are demanding quality, and manufacturers are being forced to provide it. Companies that wish to remain competitive and maintain their market share are turning to such advanced technologies as computer-aided industrial robots. This article discusses the benefits and justification of the industrial robot and provides managers in manufacturing firms with an overview of its potential applications.
