Abstract

Robotic surgery and its extension, telesurgery, have emerged as significant advancements in the field of surgical procedures. This technique involves the use of robotic systems to assist surgeons in performing complex operations with enhanced precision and control. The key points regarding robotic surgery can be summarized as follows: Firstly, robotic surgery offers several advantages over traditional open surgery and laparoscopic procedures. The use of robotic systems allows for smaller incisions, resulting in reduced trauma to the patient's body. Additionally, the robotic arms provide a greater range of motion and dexterity, enabling surgeons to access hard-to-reach areas more easily. These cumulative benefits contribute to shorter hospital stays. The utilization of robotic-assisted surgery is primarily found in the fields of urology and gynecology, with other applications found in cardiothoracic surgery, general surgery, and otorhinolaryngology. Telesurgery is an emerging technological advancement that is now implemented in a restricted range of medical establishments.
